Breast Cancer and Fertility : Part Four

The members of the Northwest Women’s Survival Group and Young Survival Coalition all agree that no facet of their lives, large or small, has been left untouched by their cancer. Motherhood is no exception -- whether it’s the unspeakable fear that they may not always be there for their children, or even becoming pregnant. Even after completing all cancer treatments and reaching the remission stage, an increase in their amount of estrogen during pregnancy is, for some, a guarantee that their cancer will return. One survivor discusses how surrogacy may be her chance to have a child of her own and a means of breathing new meaning into her life and relationship.
