In The News | Designer Tom Ford wants to join the "Pop Luck Club"

Last month, ABC News published a story about fashion designer, Tom Ford and his long-time partner, Richard Buckley talking about becoming part of the “Pop Luck Club.” The article talks about how Ford is part of a shift in attitude among gay men in their 30s and 40s who want to become parents, whether through surrogacy or adoption.

Advances in reproductive technology are making it possible for people from all demographics to fulfill their dreams of having children.

I applaud any person or couple who are willing to go to such lengths to have a baby. Gay and lesbian couples are faced with additional judgments above and beyond that of heterosexual couples using surrogates — sometimes even more than the surrogate herself. I am proud to be a part of a community that does not discriminate based on lifestyle, age, race or sexual orientation.
